Coconut matcha cloud: the iced girl drink of the season

Coconut matcha cloud: the iced girl drink of the season

Ever feel like your soul is melting somewhere between the heatwave and your fifth scroll of iced drink videos? Same. That (and a lot of matchaTok) is how I found myself deep in the coconut matcha cloud trend. And let me tell you, the hype is real.

This drink has been floating around TikTok for a minute, and I recently tried it out, and it's basically summer in a glass. Think: creamy green matcha vibes layered over super-hydrating coconut water. Light, cool, and kinda dreamy, like what you'd sip after skinny-dipping in a matcha lagoon (just go with it, bb).

Whether you're dodging heatstroke or just need a pick-me-up that doesn’t come with a caffeine crash, this one’s your go-to. No blender. No drama. Just major hydration and that lovely matcha green.

What you’ll need (and why it works)

Not too complicated, obviously. At its core, the coconut matcha cloud has just a few ingredients, but each one brings something essential to the table.

  • ¾ cup coconut water
This is your base. It’s hydrating, packed with electrolytes, and has that subtle tropical sweetness that tastes like summer.

  • 1 scoop of Matcha DNA’s organic matcha powder
This is where the glow-up happens. The combination of coconut and matcha’s earthy, umami taste is divine.

  • ¼ cup coconut milk or cream
To get that signature creamy cloud effect. Coconut milk works great for a lighter finish, but coconut cream creates a thicker, more luxurious texture on top (I personally prefer it).

  • Sweetener of choice
Totally optional. I mean, just add whichever you like and as much as you want to make it suit your needs.

How to make your coconut matcha cloud

No fancy tools required, just a frother, a tall glass, lots of ice, and good vibes.

  1. Make your matcha cream: In a glass, add your coconut milk or cream, your sweetener of choice, and your scoop of matcha (you might want to sift it to get rid of any clumps). Whisk with your frother until everything is well combined and slightly airy. I’m already loving this texture!

  2. Prep your glass: Fill your tall glass (bonus points if it’s cute and aesthetic) about ¾ full with ice, and then pour in the chilled coconut water. This is your hydrating, slightly sweet base layer.

  3. Layer like a pro: Slowly pour the creamy matcha mixture over the coconut water. You’ll get this gorgeous green cloud floating on top, a moment that’s honestly worth filming for your story.

That’s it. Stir it up if you want everything blended, or sip through the layers for the full experience. It tastes like a beach vacation and a wellness shot had a very chilled baby.
