Matcha strawberry & banana smoothie, your new go-to drink

Matcha strawberry & banana smoothie, your new go-to drink

Smoothies are a whole vibe. Whether you’re running late to class, need a mid-scroll pick-me-up, or just want something that tastes as good as it looks, they just hit every single time.

Refreshing? Yup.
Nutritious? For sure.
Versatile? Heck yes. Endless possibilities so that you never get tired.

Honestly, the perfect option when you want something fun to drink.

So obviously, as the matcha fan that I am (and I know you are, too), adding matcha to my smoothies is like the best move. It’s a flavor booster, a mood lifter, and a green dream in every recipe.

Here’s why I’m obsessed with adding matcha green tea in smoothies:

  • It adds a subtle earthy-sweet kick

  • It’s packed with antioxidants (hello glow)

  • It delivers a steady energy lift, no caffeine crash

So if you’re looking for a smoothie that’s tasty, photogenic, and full of benefits, this matcha strawberry & banana smoothie is your new BFF.

Ingredients

This recipe makes two glasses, so it’s time to call your bestie and invite her over for this treat 💚 Here’s what you’ll need:

For the strawberry layer:

  • ¾ cup frozen strawberries

  • ⅔ cup strawberry protein yogurt

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • A dash of vanilla extract

For the matcha layer:

  • 1 chopped frozen banana

  • 2–3 tsp Matcha DNA organic matcha powder (the queen herself)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 cup of your fave milk (dairy, almond, oat, soy, coconut. You do you)

Instructions (no gatekeeping here)

This is super simple. Like almost any smoothie out there, tbh.

  1. Make your strawberry base: In a blender, throw in all the ingredients needed for the strawberry layer. Blend until smooth and dreamy, put it in your two cups, and pop it in the fridge to chill while you prep layer two.

  2. Blend the matcha magic: Now, add your banana, milk, salt, and matcha green tea powder to the blender (after giving it a rinse, of course), and blend until you’ve got a creamy green masterpiece.

  3. Layer it up: Get your two cups (bonus points if they’re Pinterest-worthy, ofc) with the strawberry layer out of the fridge. Now, obviously we want to make it aesthetic and have the two layers ✨separate✨ and not blended. So, to do this, carefully spoon the matcha layer on top.

If you wanna get fancy, you can try swirling it slightly with a straw for a galaxy smoothie moment. I will confess my first try wasn’t really that aesthetic, so just letting you know!! Practice makes perfect, I guess, right?

Why you need to try this (like, now)

Still not convinced?

It’s delicious: fruity, creamy, and has that signature matcha glow-up
Nutritious queen: high in protein (because of the yogurt), antioxidants (matcha’s superpower), and good vibes
Feed-worthy: no need to explain this one. Pure aesthetic bliss
Customizable: you can easily switch up the milk, sweeten it to taste, or toss in some chia seeds to make it your own

And let’s be honest… sipping on this just feels main character.

So, are you obsessed with this smoothie? Same.
