Christmas mania: gingerbread matcha latte

Christmas mania: gingerbread matcha latte

Christmas is around the corner, and suddenly the world smells like cinnamon, every street has a new string of lights, and my TikTok fyp is full of cozy matcha drinks that I can’t help wanting to try. It’s that sweet spot where the holiday season still feels full of possibilities, before the last-minute shopping panic kicks in.

So, clearly, it only seems fair to me that I start sharing those cozy festive drinks with yall. Enter the gingerbread matcha latte: a quick, creamy, and ridiculously festive one made with Matcha DNA’s new matcha latte powder. The best part? That, with this, the whole process suddenly takes, what, a minute? Maybe two? No whisk choreography. No stress. Just a creamy, spicy-sweet drink that smells like someone lit a gingerbread candle and handed you a hug.

If you want a simple way to kick off the month, this is it.

what you’ll need

The wonderful thing about Matcha DNA’s new matcha latte powder is that making a latte is as easy as 1, 2, 3: all you need is the powder and some warm water. Or, in our case, some milk. Because I like it extra creamy.

Now we’re making 2 servings, so go call your bestie.

For the latte:

  • 2 scoops Matcha DNA’s matcha latte powder

  • 2 cups milk (any kind works)

For the gingerbread cold foam:

  • 2 oz milk

  • 2 oz heavy cream

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tbsp molasses

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

step-by-step instructions

Not too complicated, hear me out:

  1. Prepare the matcha latte base: Get two cups, since we’re making two servings! Now, add 1 scoop of the matcha latte powder and pour in a splash of warm milk to each. With a frother, stir until completely smooth. Top both cups with the rest of the milk.

    1. Want it hot? Make sure to heat the milk beforehand!

    2. Want it iced? Pour the matcha latte over a glass of ice.

  2. Make the gingerbread cold foam: In a small bowl or jar, mix the milk, heavy cream, cinnamon, ginger, molasses, and maple syrup. Froth it up until it becomes light and fluffy: think soft, cloud-like texture.

  3. Assemble your latte: Spoon the gingerbread foam over the two matchas.

  4. Add the finishing touch: Looks are everything for our fun little drinks, right? Top with a gingerbread cookie, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon, or take it up a notch however you see fit.

finishing touches that make it feel like Christmas

Looks are everything for our fun little drinks, right?

A gingerbread cookie is the obvious winner here (have you seen the ones that are like a lemon wedge?), but don’t underestimate how much a tiny cinnamon sprinkle can elevate the whole vibe. Or what about adding mini marshmallows, or colorful sprinkles… Honestly, just have fun with it!

Whether you make it for a slow morning or that classic “I still have ten gifts to wrap” panic moment, this latte adds a little softness and fun to whatever December throws at you.

And that’s pretty much it: a seasonal drink that feels special without forcing you into a complicated routine. With a handful of spices, a fluffy gingerbread foam, and the convenience of matcha latte powder, you get a cup that fits beautifully into the holiday chaos or coziness (or both).
