Strawberry x matcha x boba = main character energy

Strawberry x matcha x boba = main character energy

Have you ever had a craving so specific it pretty much wrote the recipe for you? Well, that’s literally me with this. I’ve been craving boba ever since I wrote that article on how to make a classic matcha green tea bubble tea, and since I’ve been putting strawberry into everything lately, well, I wanna keep doing that. Also, remember that I showed you the way with a strawberry matcha latte? Well, combining these two concepts just sounds iconic.

Strawberry. Matcha. Boba. Main character energy. A whole movement.

And guess what? A customer (hi queen 👑) left us a lovely review on Amazon saying she loved using our matcha tea powder in her boba drinks. You see? I’m not the only one saying it 🙄. That’s when I knew. I simply had to make this recipe happen.

So get ready, because you’re coming with me.

What you’ll need

Grab your ingredients and your cutest glass, because this one’s gonna look just as good on your feed as it tastes IRL.

  • 1 scoop Matcha DNA’s organic matcha powder

  • 2 oz hot water

  • ¼ cup tapioca pearls

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey (or whatever sweetener you want)

  • 4 juicy medium strawberries

  • ¾ cup of your fave milk (oat, almond, dairy… whatever matches your mood)

  • And a whole lotta ice

Step-by-step: build your strawberry matcha boba like a pro

Ok, so there truly is no mystery here. I’m literally doing a mashup of the other two recipes I already shared. Let’s go:

  1. Prep your matcha: As you normally would, add 1 scoop of matcha green tea powder to 2 oz hot water and whisk until it’s smooth and frothy. Set aside.

  2. Cook the tapioca pearls: Follow the instructions on your boba packaging!! I boiled a small pot of water, added the pearls, and stirred until they were floating. But idk, maybe some bobas cook differently. Once they’re ready, drain them and put them in a bowl.

  3. Sweeten that boba: Add the maple syrup or honey (or whatever sweetener you decided to use), mix it up real good, and let them marinate for at least 5 minutes so they soak up the sweetness.

  4. Make the strawberry base: In your tall, cute glass, chop your strawberries and muddle them with 2 tbsp sweetener of choice until you get a juicy, delicious purée. Feeling a bit lazy? Toss it in the blender and you’ll get it in seconds. But you’ll also have to wash another dish. Choose your fighter wisely 😌

  5. Assemble your drink: Add the boba pearls to your glass, drop in some ice, and pour in your milk. You can either leave it as is or give it a stir to mix it all a little and get a nice pink-shaded milk.

  6. Matcha drop: Finally, slowly pour in your matcha on top. Watch that green-pink swirl do its thing. Snap a pic. Stir. Sip.
